PRIMACYT receives research award
In 2008 the German Ministry of Agriculture, Nutrition and Consumer Protection has awarded the prize for the promotion of methodical work towards the stated goal of reducing animal experiments and replacing them with alternative methods. PRIMACYT received the award for the development of the long-term, serum free human hepatocyte culture system HEPAC².

Proof of concept successful
PRIMACYT's human hepatocyte cell culture system HEPAC² predicted clinical liver functions with much higher accuracy than animal experiments. This was shown in a recently published study with the anti-cancer drug cis-4-hydroxy-L-proline. (PDF-Download: Dickens et al. 2008)
